Puerto Vallarta is one of the destinations mexicans more romantic and you don’t need to be a resident to understand why. Just be found on the Boardwalk. This corridor goes along the sea, it is the fusion, the perfect synthesis of the freshness of the waves rocking along with the human talent carving the sculptures that accompany our journey. It is much more than the breaking waves for which it was intended: the art and culture intervening in an everyday space, is a place to breathe pure air, admire the best sunsets and fill the senses in this magnificent corner of the world that is Puerto Vallarta.

The Malecon begins at hotel landmark of Puerto Vallarta, the Hotel Rosita, the first that was built and saw to pass by the target as many stories as people, back in the 40’s. It ends at Los Arcos, a beautiful amphitheater located outdoors, which invites you to stay, to settle down there in front of the sea and lose the view on the horizon. Here are continuously performed shows and plays for the enjoyment of all the public walker.

With a little more than 2 kilometers of extension, the walk is a call to walk among sculptures of different characters, to try to understand the sense of the hands that carried them out. The seahorse, whose architect was Rafael Zamarripa, was the first that was laid in the year 1976 and it explains why it has become the icon that represents the city. Also, there are other works that can also be admired as Neptune and Nereid by Carlos Espino, figures from greco-roman mythology.

There is also The Nostalgia, designed by Ramiz Barquet and dedicated to his wife. There is a couple, the strength of the love that looketh toward the same point, towards the future. The Subtle Comepiedras is another of the works of art and was made in bronze and obsidian for Jonas Gutierrez. It is one of the more recent ya that is out there since the year 2006.

Couldn’t miss an appeal to the love of friends and that is why it is The Source of Friendship, performed by James Bottoms, and Octavio Gonzalez Gutierrez, who portrayed the feeling through of two dolphins. The work represents the fraternity with the californian city of Santa Barbara.

The Roundabout of the Sea from the creator Alejandro Colunga is one of the more striking since it is comprised of 8 pieces which represent human figures with exaggerated features. Another that is very well-known is The Search for the Reason, that consists in the set of 3 figures that go in search of an answer, two of them mounted on a ladder. Finally, The Millennia of Mathis Lidice is another that will be glad to travel with your beauty and sense.

If at the end of the tour you woke up your appetite, there is no need to worry because here are located numerous restaurants and gourmet shops that will make you travel with their flavors: traditional recipes prepared again and again, gourmet dishes and the inevitable seafood make mexican table is a reason to gather with friends and continue to enjoy the stay in this destination.

Thus, culture, art, history, recreation and flavours of Mexico combine in this warm corner of Puerto Vallarta to offer locals and tourists a ride without equal.
