Cancún is world-renowned for its natural tourist attractions, its beaches, the color of its seas, and the nearby islands that complete the picture of the “perfect paradise,” placing this beautiful city among the top choices for tourists when selecting a vacation destination.

Cancún presents itself each year as the best host for all ocean sports enthusiasts, attracting people from all over the world who seek an intense connection with nature. Athletes from countries like Brazil, the United States, and the European Union ride the waves of this Mexican city in April and May, enjoying its excellent climate and ideal ocean conditions for surfing. Cancún is perfect for relaxing in a luxurious hotel and having fun at the same time, with attractions that cater to all tastes, ages, and passions—especially for sports.

For All Tastes

In a festive setting, professional athletes arrive in the city, while amateurs eagerly await the chance each year to learn more from those experienced in these activities. Children and adults gather in a celebratory atmosphere centered around sports.

In Cancún, around this time, sports-related events alternate with parties, conventions, talks, and, as expected, all sorts of aquatic sports competitions. This is why, year after year, hotel reservation demand increases, and the beaches are filled with travelers eager to enjoy the sun while watching the top athletes take on the waves.

Sports Take Over the Beaches

Taking advantage of the occasion, the world’s first jet surf school was opened last season. Cancún was chosen due to the high level of aquatic activity, not only at this time of year but throughout the rest of the year as well, making it a prime gathering place for these types of sports in Latin America.

“Regardless of the number of participants and fans who visit Cancún during competition days, the exposure of this destination on sports channels and media specializing in aquatic activities will give the event greater visibility,” explained Mark Shtern, director of Jet Surf México.

As we can see, Cancún always offers more. So, are you going to miss out?
