Chegar a Jalisco means finding oneself in an idyllic panorama: there are many places where nature reigns, all of them welcoming with their colors and spaces, waiting for us to choose how to explore them. The decision is always difficult because you want the experience to be for everyone, but there is almost always one that stands out triumphantly among the rest: Cuixmala.

This picturesque destination is a succession of ecosystems that allows you to enjoy great pleasures within just a few kilometers. Cuixmala is beaches, lagoons, and a green paradise to explore, but also its people and its culinary delights will captivate us from the very first moment we come into contact with these blessed lands. For this reason, it is one of those places that enchants at first sight.

Additionally, the place presents a paradox: it promises not to leave us at peace thanks to its countless leisure proposals, yet at the same time, it assures us the most absolute calm and harmony, which will be our faithful companions, whether we decide to walk along its beaches or opt to ride a bike to explore its surroundings.

Cuixmala is also home to numerous species of animals and plants that enjoy the highest level of protection. They are part of the Chamela-Cuixmala Biosphere Reserve, one of the most important in the region. The numbers are astonishing: there are more than 270 species of birds, 1,200 species of flora, and over 70 species of mammals. Therefore, it shouldn’t surprise you that while you’re here, you hear a symphony of songs and sounds, which are nothing more than the pure expression of life in this beautiful corner! It is at that moment when you realize that nature here is thriving, and as such, it must be respected.

Moreover, here you can find the opportunity to make your contribution to the environment: on the beaches, turtles lay their eggs, which need to be collected to prevent poaching and subsequent sale on the black market. Thus, if you decide to participate in an experience you will never forget in your life, you can help release the turtles that are ready to return to the sea. The predominant species here is the Kemp’s ridley, although the leatherback and black turtles also make appearances.

On the other hand, those looking for beach activities can engage in kayaking or diving and, of course, simply swim in the sea and let themselves be carried by the waves.

Furthermore, Cuixmala is a symbol of the good life, where you can enjoy healthy delicacies made with local crops. The moment you savor every bite, accompanied by an unparalleled view of nature, will be something you will never forget. And afterward, in the “rest” mode after the meal, there are some places that offer yoga classes right by the beach. A must-do!

Being in Cuixmala is about bringing out the best in ourselves, not only regarding the tranquility we offer our body and soul but also in the solidarity and respect we must practice toward the environment. Don’t miss the opportunity to visit this paradisiacal green corner of Costalegre!
