The wonderful city of Cancun in the last four decades has become one of the most important tourist centers of the country that attracts thousands of travelers from different corners of the world throughout the year.

This city is famous worldwide for having stunning natural landscapes that manage to combine the best of the jungle and the sea, forming beautiful beaches with transparent waters, ideal to enjoy with family or friends and to live a vacation extraordinary. But also, this resort is characterized by its hotels of international level and for being an interesting gastronomic destination, which has a large number of restaurants where you can taste the traditional flavors of the region.

The gastronomic offer of Cancun offers to its visitors excellent services, multiple alternatives of menus and even, in some sites, music to enjoy live. The culinary specialties that are typical of Cancun are quite different from other areas of Mexico and are made mostly with foods from the sea such as fish, shellfish, shrimp and lobsters. In this sense, one of the recommended restaurants to visit is Captain?s Cove, distinguished by its delicious and tasty recipes based on seafood and fish.

Captain?s Cove was opened in the year 1986 and offers, in addition to tasty preparations, a beautiful panoramic view to the Nichupte Lagoon, comfortable internal spaces and outdoors, on-site parking, air conditioning and excellent care. Here you can enjoy a variety of traditional dishes, among them:

  • Tikin-Xic: it is a delicious fish covered with banana leaves and grilled over charcoal, accompanied with sour orange, achiotes, olive oil, tomatoes, chiles, spices, onions and beer.
  • Kibis: they are small balls of wheat stuffed with meat or cheese, served with habanero chili, chopped onions and wedges of sour orange.
  • Tacos Cochinita Pibil: exquisite food that is made with pork, sour orange, achiote, black beans, and onions. This dish is served in a corn tortilla.
  • Sopa de Lima: is a tasty shredded chicken with lime juice, and toast.

However, beyond these exquisite preparations of traditional, the main house specialties are the seafood, the seafood soup, the fish Boquinet, grouper and mahi mahi, the salmon, croquettes of crab, the fried calamari, the shrimp ceviche, the fish soup and the bbq ribs. In addition, the place has a great variety of national and international drinks and delicious desserts such as lemon cakes, cheesecakes, mango, creme brulee, carrot cake and chocolate tarts.

How many flavors to delight the palate! Captain?s Cove is without a doubt a restaurant that deserves to be visited in your visit to Cancun, and even more so if you’re one of those lovers of the best recipes in the sea. Visit this typical mexican restaurant and enjoy a pleasant moment in family!
