To appreciate its beauty and its impressive waterfalls is an unforgettable experience that worth living. The sighting of these giant mammals, which have an approximate extension of 75 meters and a weight of 45 tons, it is one of the attractions of the season more interesting of Mexico. It is an extraordinary activity that attracts thousands of tourists from different corners of the world and that is perfect to enjoy in couple or in family.

Every year hundreds of specimens of this species travel from the northwest of Canada and Alaska to get to Banderas Bay, where they mate, reproduce and protect their newborn calves from the cold winter of North America. Whales male give beginning to this natural event doing different rituals to impress females, such as spectacular jumps that are dotted around large amounts of water, and beautiful singing that is only heard under the sea, which are considered as one of the loudest sounds and beautiful nature. After you get pregnant and give birth to their young, the females are responsible for caring for them and teaching them to survive.

These mammals stay in Nuevo Vallarta until march or early April, and subsequently embark on their journey of return, because it is the date in which the temperature of the water increases considerably in the area.

Although some of the humpback whales seek to mate on the shores of the Mexican Pacific, others only come to these waters to reproduce. This is due mainly to the gestation period of their offspring is 11 months and many are already pregnant with the migration of the previous year. In general, the vast majority of the whales are born between early December and mid-January and in the following two months to learn to swim and to eat.
