A Riviera Nayarit is the most important tourist region on the Mexican Pacific coast. This coastal strip, which extends throughout the state from which it gets its name, features dreamlike beaches that become home to exotic birds and the paradise of choice for travelers seeking much more than a simple and conventional beach holiday.

Here, there is culture, warmth, food, tropical bars, and beautiful mountains that make up the Sierra Madre. Within all these wonders, there is also a wealth of culture and indigenous heritage. In this sense, when talking about culture, it is impossible not to think of San Francisco, a town that keeps alive the most representative artistic expressions of the coastal peoples of Nayarit.

San Pancho, as it’s popularly known, is part of the outskirts of Sayulita and is positioned as the most representative cultural center of the area. So much so that, for the past nine years, the Sinergiarte Art and Culture Festival has been celebrated.

The main objective of this event is to showcase the work of local artists to the eyes of the world, as well as for the residents of San Pancho to learn about and have direct contact with artistic movements from other latitudes. On the other hand, this space serves as a universe of encounters, exchange, and dissemination, where both artists and viewers can find moments of symbolic dialogue that will spark interesting discussions.

Many claim that art is more than just painting or sculpting, and with this festival, that concept is confirmed. Why? Because the artistic presentations it hosts include theater, literature, gastronomy, workshops, circus acts, dance, music, handicrafts, painting, sculpture, video, and more. Come enjoy a magnificent cultural experience in Riviera Nayarit!

In 2014, the 9th edition of this festival is celebrated, coloring the streets of San Pancho with hues, melodies, and charm. This time, the main theme is: “For All My Relations.” As the San Pancho Collective states: “We live in a time of great changes and a complex and multifaceted reflection on how and with whom we relate. This will suggest new tools to develop increasingly healthy, sustainable, and, of course, creative relationships.”

Sinergiarte begins on December 20 and runs until the 28th of the same month. The inauguration was held with a collective visual arts exhibition that kicks off all the other activities. Throughout this week, spaces for encounter and debate are created to connect with yourself and others, as well as to discuss the concepts that each person holds about what it means to relate, how we do it, and how to achieve less toxic relationships.

40 dance performances, about 70 concerts, 25 circus shows, 10 theater plays, 12 projection cycles, 25 individual exhibitions, and 15 collective ones from different disciplines—this is just a glimpse of what awaits you in this city, a hub of local culture and tradition. Come immerse yourself in art in San Francisco!
