The presence of the mayan civilization in Mexico has left indelible marks that, even with the passage of time, can be felt in different aspects of the culture of the country. For thousands of years, this tribe occupied about 400 thousand square meters, over several states in mexico and some countries of central America, including Guatemala, Belize, El Salvador and Honduras.

In Mexico, one of the states that preserves the largest number of vestiges of this culture, as well as one of the most important buildings of the maya is Yucatan, located on the coast of the Caribbean Sea. Mayan village is a restaurant that not only serves delicious dishes but also features a Botanical Garden, a Bazaar of mexican Crafts and a swimming-pool. This site emerged 25 years ago and was a pioneer in Pisté, where before there had been alternatives to the tourists, eager, came up here to the mythical city of Chichen Itza.

Nothing like getting up Maya People and, before you sit in on some of their tables, take a walk through its Botanical Garden, a green space formed by plants and flowers with their respective names so that the one who does not know them can easily recognize each species. Along the Garden, there are some hammocks that complete the recreational space of this renowned restaurant on the yucatan.

Once you have to choose the menu of the Mayan People, you will find yourself with multiple choices of dishes that are divided into two sections. On the one hand that represent the flavors of the international cuisine and the other, the regional food, with the tasty mexican dishes. So, you can opt for entrees such as the cochinita pibil, a typical dish of the yucatan prepared with pork cooked in an earth oven; the classic chicken fajitas; breaded fish served with tartar sauce and the lime soup, made with a chicken broth light, among many others. Also the menu offers add-ons and side dishes, and an interesting selection of spirits and beers to accompany your meal.

After enjoying such rich flavours, you can’t leave Maya People without going through their Bazaar of Crafts called Mexican Hands, where you can take a beautiful memory here, as well as pieces made in 925 silver and other artefacts representative of the states of Mexico and Michoacán, Chiapas, Jalisco, and Guanajuato, among others.
